Pay in 3 instalments
Frequently Asked Questions
Who is Klarna?
Klarna is a payments service that helps you buy the things you want or need. Right now, over 100 million people worldwide use Klarna at over 200,000 online stores.
How does Pay in 3 instalments work?
With Klarna’s Pay in 3 instalments, you can easily divide the cost of your purchases into 3 equal payments. Your debit or credit card will be charged directly by Klarna, relieving you from the burden of remembering payment dates. The first payment will be deducted at the time of purchase, followed by the second after 30 days and the final one after 60 days. Keeping track of your previous and upcoming payments is made simple with the Klarna app.
Am I eligible for Pay in 3 instalments?
To utilise Klarna’s credit options, such as Pay in 3 instalments, one must be a minimum of 18 years old and a resident of the UK. Additionally, Klarna will review both the information provided and the individual’s financial circumstances.
Can I have multiple Pay in 3 instalments orders at the same time?
Yes, you can. If you see Klarna Pay in 3 instalments when you go to an online checkout then Pay in 3 instalments is available to you. Every time you use Pay in 3, Klarna will check to see whether you can use Pay in 3 again for each additional purchase.
What does Klarna consider when reviewing my application?
Klarna’s Pay in 3 instalments option takes into account various factors, including the purchase amount and your previous order history. To increase your chances of being offered this option, make sure to provide accurate personal information and have your order shipped to your registered billing address. Each order is evaluated on its own merits, so being approved for Pay in 3 instalments before does not guarantee its availability for every order. Similarly, if your application is denied, it does not necessarily mean that it will be denied for future orders as well.
What do I need to provide when I make a purchase?
To use Klarna’s Pay in 3 instalments feature, you’ll be asked to provide your phone number, email address, current billing address, and credit or debit card details. In case of urgent communication from Klarna, they will use the provided phone number. All other necessary information will be sent to your email address.
Will a credit search take place?
By utilising Pay in 3 instalments, Klarna will conduct a credit check, which involves reviewing specific details from your credit history to determine if your purchase can be approved.
How do I make repayments to Klarna?
With Klarna, your Pay in 3 instalments plan will be charged to the debit or credit card you provided at checkout. The first payment will be deducted at the time of purchase, followed by a second payment after 30 days and a final payment after 60 days. Keep track of all your payments, past and future, with ease through the Klarna app.
Can I pay before the due date?

What happens if I don’t pay for my order on time?
As a credit product, Pay in 3 instalments requires you to fulfill your payment obligations to Klarna. If for any reason Klarna is unable to collect your scheduled payment on the due date, they will make another attempt seven days later. In the event that this second attempt is unsuccessful, a final try will be made seven days after that. Subsequent payments may continue to be attempted on their corresponding due dates or you may receive a separate invoice for the unpaid balance. Be aware that Klarna reserves the right to share details of missed payments with credit reference agencies. This could potentially impact your ability to use Klarna or other lenders’ credit products in the future, and all relevant information can be found in the Klarna terms and conditions at the top of this page.
What happens if I don’t pay for my order?
Failure to make payments on your part will result in being in arrears, as Pay in 3 functions as a credit product. As a result, Klarna may disclose details of any missed payments to credit reference agencies. This could potentially hinder your ability to use Klarna or other lenders’ credit products in the future, possibly resulting in higher costs.
Klarna may also refer any debt to a debt collection agency. This agency will collect the debt on behalf of Klarna. Also, if the debt is referred to a debt collection agency Klarna will share this information with credit reference agencies.
